The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a diverse, caring, and energetic group of individuals who serve as representatives of the student body to promote and ensure the quality of health care at UW-Stevens Point.
SHAC was founded at UWSP in the early 1970's. UWSP was one of the first campuses in the United States to form a consumer advisory committee for the health service. SHAC provides students with an opportunity for leadership roles and active involvement in a health related organization.
The purpose of SHAC is to:
- Improve the Health Center services and facilities,
- Distribute health-related information,
- Formulate and review Health Center policies, and
- Work in cooperation with other organizations to, promote wellness.
